Catalin came to the United States in 2013 to continue his education in music by enrolling in a master’s degree in collaborative piano and chamber music at Sam Houston State University in Huntsville, TX, under the coordination of Dr. Ilonka Rus. While studying there, he traveled and performed in the US, Europe and South America. In 2016, Catalin started his doctoral degree under the guidance of renowned pianist and pedagogue, Dr. William Westney. While working on this degree, he was a teaching assistant at the TTU School of Music and was one of the main piano accompanists for the voice and instrumental departments, chamber groups, and large ensembles.
