Milwaukee Piano and Voice Instructor
David Bahrke is Director of Music and Organist of Saint Peter’s Episcopal Church in West Allis, Wisconsin. David serves as Registrar of the American Guild of Organists-Milwaukee Chapter and is a freelance organist, choral director, vocal coach, and pianist. David has been a music director in Episcopal, Lutheran, Roman Catholic parishes, and other Orthodox and Protestant denominations. He directed choral, handbell, and various instrumental ensembles of children, young adults, and adult musicians.
David has taught both class and individual piano and pipe organ lessons. As a Traveling Music Teacher in Milwaukee Public Schools, he specialized in teaching piano students at academic risk and learning differences. He has also taught adult-age students, including senior citizens. His teaching methods include the Alfred Piano Series, Faber Piano Adventures, Royal School of Church Music: “Voice for Life Curriculum,” digital and video technology, and other music enrichment media materials. Instructional methods and materials tailored to students’ age, grade level, and learning needs are implemented in lessons.
David has been a performing organist for the John Weissrock Gesu Church Organ Concert Series. He has served as a Dean and a Sub Dean of the American Guild of Organists-Milwaukee Chapter and as a member of the Development and Finance Committee of the AGO National Council. For seventeen years, he was Chorus Manager and Artist Liaison for the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra.
David joined the Maestro Makers faculty in Fall 2019 and is currently accepting new piano and voice students.
