Violin

Violinist, Theresa Rukavina, is a musician, graduate student, and instructor based in the Milwaukee area. She earned a Bachelor of Music in Violin Performance, with honors, at Drake University in 2017. She is currently in pursuit of a Master of Music in Violin Performance and Chamber Music Performance at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. Theresa now performs in the UWM Symphony Orchestra and occasionally with the Sheboygan Symphony Orchestra.

She is passionate about musical collaboration and is an active performer of chamber music at UWM. In 2018, Theresa was invited to the international Zodiac Chamber Music Festival in France where she received instruction from the Zodiac Trio and performed in solo and chamber recitals. Theresa’s piano trio enjoyed highlighting pieces by women composers such as Clara Schumann, Fanny Mendelssohn, and Cécile Chaminade.

Theresa’s admiration and dedication to the violin can be seen in her teaching. She caters her lessons to each individual student to help them achieve their unique musical goals. Theresa can help her students build confidence in their playing and develop problem solving skills to utilize when practicing on their own. She believes that building a strong foundation of technique leads to rewarding musical expression.
