Megan O’Connell | Madison

Madison Flute Instructor

Megan O’Connell recently earned a Master of Music in performance from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and currently serves as Instructor of Flute at Beloit College. While at UW-Madison, Megan studied with Timothy Hagen, Stephanie Jutt, and Jeanne Swack and performed with the UW Symphony Orchestra, Wind Ensemble, Early Music Ensemble, Contemporary Chamber Ensemble, and several small student groups. Winner of UW-Whitewater’s 2014 Symphonic Wind Ensemble Concerto Competition and runner-up in UW-Madison’s 2018 Irving Shain Woodwind/Piano Duo Competition, Megan also earned a Bachelor of Arts in creative writing from UW-Madison (2009) and a Bachelor of Music in flute performance from UW-Whitewater (2015) where she studied with Robin Fellows. As a private teacher, Megan runs a growing studio on the west side of Madison, teaches for the Sun Prairie Band Boosters Lesson Academy, and has given flute clinics for UW-Whitewater’s Woodwind Mania, the Middleton/Cross Plains Area School District, and Fort Atkinson High School. Megan currently performs with the Madison-based Impromptu Chamber Orchestra, and in her free time enjoys supporting local live music of all genres.

Megan is currently offering flute lessons in Madison and is accepting new students.
