Nathan Pflughoeft is a musician and instructor currently offering guitar lessons in the Milwaukee area. Nathan first picked up the guitar at the age of 12, with an initial interest in rock music. Expanding his horizons, he soon became interested in jazz, which led to his studying at UW-Milwaukee and earning a BA in Jazz Performance. Before graduating from UWM, he had already begun touring the country with a local funk group.
After graduation, he began work as a freelance musician, performing with a broad array of local artists, across a variety of genres, including jazz, rock, pop, R&B, hip hop, afro beat, and gospel. Today, he continues his work as a freelance musician in addition to teaching. When teaching, his philosophy is to first identify the student’s musical goals so that the material being covered is always relevant and interesting to the student, while at the same time introducing theoretical concepts that will create a strong basis for creativity.
